Marketing that moves the small business.
Teams of 5 to 50 people, where everyone wears six hats and one of them is marketing. We take the marketing hat off your team. End to end. Strategy, messaging, and materials, run by a partner who treats the business like their own.
Sound familiar?
Three things every leader tells us in the first 15 minutes of a discovery call.
The marketing department is a person, not a department.
It's the owner, the office manager, or whoever picked up the slack last quarter. Whoever it is, they have another job already.
The plan you wrote in January is a graveyard.
You wrote it during the offsite. It lives in a Google Doc nobody opens. The year is happening anyway, just without the plan.
The agency you tried felt like a factory.
You filled out a brief. They sent back a deck. Nobody at the agency has any idea what your business actually does, and the work shows.
The three plays, applied to your shop.
We use this foundational process for every client, every engagement.
Messaging
We use the StoryBrand Framework to create a messaging guide that becomes your playbook for all of your marketing.
- Positioning & differentiation
- Voice guide your team can use
- Core message architecture
Planning
A twelve-month plan that runs your year. Built around the realities of a small team and keeping the focus on your goals.
- Audience & channel map
- Quarterly campaign cadence
- Owner per tactic, every week
Materials
Brand, site, social, email, print, designed and shipped from one shop. So everything sounds like the business and looks like it too.
- Brand & visual identity
- Website design & SEO
- Social, email & print
A few projects we are proud of.
Each one ran on the same three plays.
Boar Blanket
From zero organic traffic to category leader in six months.
Boar Blanket entered a market dominated by entrenched competitors with established digital presence. A relentless six-month SEO content build took them from a blank slate to ranking for 97 high-intent keywords, including conquest wins on the most-searched queries.
Focus Consulting
From scrappy handouts to a proprietary framework that sells itself.
Kristin Wiersma had great advice but scrappy delivery. We helped her see the value in her unique perspective, codified it into the Healthy Teams Framework, and built every piece of marketing and workshop material she needed to sell it.
FRAK 2025
From scrappy year-one momentum to a polished, systems-based marketing organization.
FRAK is the Fractional Conference. Year one ran on connections and just-plain-scrappy marketing. Year two needed to be a sustainable, high-level movement. We built the team, the list, and the asset library to make it happen.
Questions leaders ask before hiring us.
Straight answers to the things small business leaders want to know on the first call. If yours isn't here, ask it on the discovery call.
/ 01 What does "small business" mean to you, and do we fit?
We work best with teams of 5 to 50 people, where one person is wearing the marketing hat alongside two or three other hats. On the discovery call, we'll tell you straight whether you're a fit.
/ 02 What does the first month with you actually look like?
Two weeks of discovery: leader interviews, team interviews, and a hard look at what's already in place. Then a one-page positioning brief and a twelve-month plan for your sign-off. By the end of week four, work is shipping against the plan.
/ 03 How much should a small business actually spend on marketing?
Most of our small business clients invest somewhere between 5% and 12% of revenue on marketing, depending on growth stage and margin. The right answer for you depends on sales cycle and how aggressive your growth goals are. On the discovery call, we'll tell you what we'd do at three different budget levels, so you can pick the one that fits.
/ 04 We've already tried agencies and it didn't work. Why would this be different?
Most agencies sell deliverables. We sell a partnership. That means one person owns your account, knows your business, and is in the conversation when decisions get made. It also means we say no to work that won't move your numbers, and we tell you when something isn't working before you have to ask.
/ 05 Do we have to commit to a long contract?
We typically start with a 6-to-12 month engagement. That's the minimum window for marketing to compound. Anything less and the strategy hasn't had time to land.
/ 06 Who actually does the work? Casey, or junior staff?
Casey runs every engagement and is in the work week to week. The bench around her (strategist, writer, designer) is also small and senior.
Ready to talk?
30 minutes with Casey. No pitch deck, no homework. Just a real conversation to see if we click, and an honest read on whether we're the right fit. If we're not, we'll point you to someone who is.
